JSTDT - Magic Word

This happened just last night as we were trying to help Jaina change into her PJs. As usual, Jaina was being difficult and not wanting to get changed so mummy turned off the TV and told her to get changed first.

The threat proved to be useful as Jaina got changed relatively quickly and promptly said, "Mummy, turn on the TV."

Mummy of course replied, "I didn't hear the magic word."

Jaina, trying to push her luck, said, "Turn on the TV."

Mummy persisted, "No magic word, no TV."

Jaina was thoughtful and dragged time, saying, "er...."

Refused to give in, mummy asked, "Well? What's the magic word?"

Jaina finally said, "Hocus Pocus!"

Daddy and mummy stared at each other!! Then daddy sniggered behind Jaina's back while mummy tried to keep a straight face. Mummy had to say, "Nope, wrong magic word. No TV."

Jaina no choice but said 'Per - lease!' very unwilling.

TV was turned back on but mummy was shaking head with daddy still sniggering...
